FLOATING THE LITTLE KANAWHA RIVER; FALL FOLIAGE CRUISE
Advance reservations are now being accepted for a four-hour fall foliage cruise on the historic Little Kanawha River. Scheduled for Sunday afternoon, October 12, The Blennerhassett will leave from the Belpre Civitan Park launch site, promptly at 2:00PM and return at 6PM. While onboard light refreshments and nonalcoholic drinks will be offered. The Little Kanawha River, from the days that
early native Americans used it to access hunting grounds, to when it brought the earliest trailblazing backwoodsmen into this area, and on to the days when numerous steam boats plied its relatively deep waters, has been vital to the development ofWood County and much of the interior of what is now West Virginia.
Plan on joining us for what should be a most entertaining and beautiful cruise during one of the prettiest times of the year. Proceeds from this fund-raiser will be added to the Wood County Historic Cemetery Fund that is being managed by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation.
Reservations are $25 for adults, $20 for children 3-12, and children under 3 are free. There is no additional charge for drinks and refreshments. Please use the form below for reservations. If for some reason the cruise would not occur, money will be refunded. Call 485-8655 for info.
